NMEDA helps get people back on the road

NMEDA is a non-profit trade association of mobility equipment dealers, driver rehabilitation specialists, and other professionals dedicated to broadening the opportunities for people with disabilities to drive or be transported in vehicles modified with mobility equipment. All members work together to improve transportation options of people with disabilities.

Last year, my ex father in law lost his second leg to diabetes. This forced him into a electric scooter full time but didn’t discourage him from wanting to travel. That’s when the hunt began for a reliable adapted van that fit him and his scooter. Knowing about NMEDA then might have saved some time and effort for the family.
Had they known of the association, he and my ex mother in law could have been on the road sooner and with a lot less hassle, helping to restore a sense of independence.
