Greeting card and thank you organizer

Thanks to CCCSHas it occurred to you to send out holiday or New Year cards to  your clients? Even a simple holiday post card thanking them for their business would be a welcome surprise in the day of email and online communications.

Before you do, get organized.

Find each customers name and mailing address. Then organize by alpha bet, or most recent order, or highest amount of orders. Whatever criteria is most important to you.

Figure out what you want to send. Just a greeting and thank you, or a coupon code or special gift? Again, it’s up you to to figure out what fits best with your company brand and what you want to encourage from you customers and clients.

Now that you know what you want to send and who you are sending it to, go mail them!

For the new year, try a greeting card organizer. What would you like to remind or thank you customers for during the year? Their birthday? Their anniversary of their first order with you?

A card organizer would look like a regular notebook or accordion file, but would list the important dates, names and addresses of the client for that month. So, you can pull out the list and a card and then send it out at the beginning of each month. Nothing like planning ahead! Everything will be right where you need it and you won’t have to search through a ton of info or paperwork to find who gets what and when.

Are your collections taking over your space?

Children´s Hand BellsCurb your (collecting) enthusiasm! Do you really need 150 bells? And you with the owl collection, you haven’t dusted them in months. It’s time to scale back your collections before you turn into a hoarder.

So, maybe you just can’t give up your 150 bells from all over the world. Maybe each of them really does hold a wonderful memory of places you’ve visited or the people who gifted it to you. But, displaying them all at once is too much!

Cut your displayed collection in half (or even by a third) by putting half of the pieces into an appropriately sized container and storing it in a hall closet or the shed. If it would make you feel better, and if it would help your family at a later date, put an inventory of each piece (date acquired, date of piece, description/significance) in the storage bin.

Organize your living room – sofa space

Sitting RoomTake Advantage of Space Behind the Sofa

Using a couch table right behind the sofa is good for displaying photos, adding a lamp, or you could put some storage cubes there also to keep extra blankets, shoes, pillows.

What about using a low bookcase there? Keep more books and use the top just like you would a table?

My other favorite place to utilize couch space is under it. Put extras into those low profile storage boxes or baskets and then slide them under the couch!

Coffee table clutter cleaned up

Type Tray Coffee Table - 11Can’t find your coffee table? You are not alone!

Coffee tables look great, but if you live in a family, or live a fast-paced lifestyle, then chances are that everything and anything gets piled on it. Can you find a place for everything on top of your table? (and keep putting that stuff in it’s place?)

Some tips for maximizing your coffee table functionality and cutting down on clutter.

  • Storage cubes – under the table or as a shelving system
  • Rolling baskets – baskets on rollers (duh)
  • Plastic storage tubs – probably clear or in a shade that matches your decor
