Before you do, get organized.

Find each customers name and mailing address. Then organize by alphabet, or most recent order, or highest amount of orders. Whatever criteria is most important to you.

Figure out what you want to send. Just a greeting and thank you, or a coupon code or special gift? Again, it’s up you to to figure out what fits best with your company brand and what you want to encourage from you customers and clients.

Now that you know what you want to send and who you are sending it to, go mail them!

For the new year, try a greeting card organizer. What would you like to remind or thank you customers for during the year? Their birthday? Their anniversary of their first order with you? 

A card organizer would look like a regular notebook or accordion file, but would list the important dates, names and addresses of the client for that month. So, you can pull out the list and a card and then send it out at the beginning of each month. Nothing like planning ahead! Everything will be right where you need it and you won’t have to search through a ton of info or paperwork to find who gets what and when.

The focus has changed a little bit, but before I share what is coming in 2011, I’d like to revisit where Alex was in 2010.

The Sunday Give aWay has been popular and will continue into the new year. We gave away a cardholder and notebook cover from Destination Handmade, handmade hair bows from Mommy’s Sunshine Designs, Tangled T-shirts from Disney, and a fun bracelet from www.amethystcottage.com.

Alex also did some fun reviews and plans on more. I did the first video review for Zennie optical and shared my experience with the toning shoes from payless.  I also gave feedback on some fun food stuff – gluten free bisquick.

Most recently, Fashion Fridays showed up and there will be more going forward.

Lets take a look at what’s coming up for 2011.

I’ve hired help so that I can manage the blog, the new directory, the new Deals site and make the important connections it takes to make this all work.

The small business directory has been on the books for a while and is now ready to start taking listings. I want a place for small and indie businesses to get noticed. My hope is that it will become a go-to place for people to shop and find what they need when they need it.

There are a ton of daily deal and coupon sites that have hit the internet lately and we’ll be jumping on the bandwagon with our own version in the next few months.

So, here’s what we did for spring break this year. Nothing.

My youngest daughter has emotional and developmental issues so she’s involved with a great group who offers camps during school breaks. She got to go to camp 3 days this week, one day she even got to go to the zoo.

Mid week, my oldest and I went to the gun range to practice shooting my Christmas present. A handgun! She’s a great shot, so don’t with her mama, or you’ll have a 12 year old to deal with.

All kidding aside, I’m using my notebooks to begin journaling about my going to school. I’ve decided traditional school isn’t going to work for me. The timing just can’t get worked out between my 2 kids and a part time real life job. Thanks in part to the journaling I’ve done since getting my new notebooks, I’ve decided to become a coach which means school online for a year or two.  No, it wasn’t just the notebook, I’ve done my homework about this line of work.

Here’s my feedback on these products.

I love both the light and dark shades. The design is a little less shiny on the full size notebooks than on the small notebook and the folder.

The full size notebook isn’t spiral, so it doesn’t open and lay flat which bugs me, but the pages are perforated and have holes to put into a 3 ring binder.

The small notebook is a great size. It’s not super small like the kind you can’t even get half of a full sentence jotted on, but is small enough to fit into a purse. I’m using it to do some homework for a business class I’m taking.

All in all, I like the products a lot. The design makes me want to take out the products and use them and I have hid them from my 12 year old so she won’t steal them.
