I want to show you what can be done with left over boxes and paper, ribbon, and duck tape. This post from House of Hepworths inspired me a few weeks ago to use my scrap book papers, some duck tape and left over boxes to make storage for our living room and for my daughter’s clothing.

We recently threw out our old vintage set of dresser drawers that didn’t work well and replaced it with this cube storage unit. It sits in our living room and matches our other furniture, but it holds my daughter’s clothing.

She picked out the brown shades when we were at the store. But we only bought 4 boxes.

That left 4 open areas. 2 of which she is supposed to use for her shoes.

The other two needed filling but I wanted to keep the uniform look of boxes.

So, I got out some scrap book paper and some old usps priority boxes that I’m not going to use anytime soon.

You can see I had to use a couple types of paper, but they are both glittery. I simply cut them to the size of the side of the box. Sprayed the back with spray adhesive and stuck em on the box.

Then I went around the edges with duck tape that I got on sale at our grocery store for less than $2.

I took 2 old shoe boxes with removable lids, and did the same process. However, I did use the tape on the entire lid.

I didn’t have enough matching paper to do two boxes in the same pattern so I just did a couple in what I had. I love these and will hopefully find another shoe box soon so I can make another in the right color scheme. These are great for my computer desk/office thanks to the lid.
